GC45 WF44: COM08 Land Return – National 20% of All Property Sales Given to The Indigenous United Church for Summer 2025

Discussion groups support the intent of the proposal. There were questions about details around proportions, and which sales, for which all Regional Councils are responsible.   

As noted in the proposal, the General Council can not mandate Regional Councils regarding the distribution of property sales. 

In WF24b the General Council directed the General Secretary to establish a task group to review the resource distribution inequities and to discern possible ways to address those inequities. 

Therefore, in response to COM08 Land Return – National 20% of All Property Sales Given to The Indigenous United Church, the Way Forward Team proposes: 

That the 45th General Council, 2025, refer COM08 Land Return – National 20% of All Property Sales Given to The Indigenous United Church and all discussion group notes to the task group to be created by the General Secretary on resource distribution as contemplated in WF24b, section g.
