In discerning how to respond to this proposal, groups sought to recognize the autonomy and self-determination of the National Indigenous Council, in alignment with the commitments in Remit 1: Establishing an Autonomous National Indigenous Organization. While supportive, groups wanted more information about the financial implications of this proposal. Recognizing that there is a National Indigenous Elders Council planned for September, this gathering may be able to provide direction.
