Last call for nominees for Moderator to join the current five candidates

Please join us for the constitution of the 45th General Council, which opens online on Sunday, June 22, at 4 p.m. Check out the agenda on the calendar page for this and for the learning session on Saturday, June 28, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET. The theme for this second session is “What is the vision/dream for United Church ministry leadership?”

Both meetings will be livestreamed and featured on our YouTube channel.

This website is the go-to for all things General Council leading up to the 45th and following. Most proposals and reports are now available to read on this site, and many also include videos.

Currently, there are five nominees for Moderator. Each profile features a full statement for all Moderator candidates and a short introductory video for most.

Along with the commissioners of the 45th General Council there are corresponding members representing global partners from all four regions of The United Church of Canada global partnership programme: the Middle East, the African continent, Asia and Caribbean Latin America. 

Also joining as corresponding members are Canadian and Global ecumenical partners from the Anglican Church of Canada, Presbyterian Church in Canada, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, the Canadian Council of Churches, the World Council of Churches, and the World Communion of Reformed Churches.

Interfaith partners will gather with Elders; Youth Forum members; past moderators; equity, facilitation, and technical support teams, as well as visitors, to watch the livestreamed session.
