GC43 or earlier GC16 National Health Insurance (1954N132) BE IT RESOLVED THAT this council expresses its considered opinions regarding National Health Insurance as follows:COMMEND the federal, provincial and municipal governments’ concern for progress made to date in providing more adequate health services, increasing the number of hospital beds and in related ways improving preventive, diagnostic, remedial and other forms of medical and surgical care and treatment.COMMEND all organizations and agencies that promote voluntary health and hospitalization insurance plans.URGE all responsible governmental authorities in cooperation with the medical, dental, nursing and related professions to move as quickly as possible to the establishment of an integrated and contributory National Health Insurance program.
